Announcing the 2025 PHC Practice-Based Research Challenge
Are you interested in research & patient care improvement? Join the 15th cohort of the PHC Practice-Based Research Challenge!
Awards Innovation |
Since 2011, the PHC Professional Practice Office and Providence Research (along with UBC School of Nursing, St Paul’s Foundation, BCNU, the Professorship in Cardiovascular Nursing, Organ Donation & Transplant Research Foundation, and BCIT) have supported teams of point-of-care nurses, PTs, OTs, dietitians, pharmacists, speech-language pathologists, social workers and others who have contributed to practice change and improvements in patient care through small-scale research projects conducted in their own practice settings. The Research Challenge brings evidence-based practice to life and demonstrates how research at the bedside can improve patient outcomes.
Organ Donation & Transplant Research Foundation is a key partner in the Research Challenge, and projects related to transplant health are encouraged! Faculty from the BCIT Nursing Program are available to partner with PHC clinicians on research projects of mutual interest.
The Research Challenge is designed to support point-of-care staff who don’t have research experience but are keen to take on a project. The Research Challenge program will provide research training, mentorship, and funding to help you answer a question from your own clinical practice. Research can be conducted on your area of interest, and Person and Family-centred Care continues to be a focus, so all teams must include patient/family input in their projects.
If you'd like to join the Research Challenge, fill out a short application (Letter of Intent) describing your research question by Tuesday, February 18th.
