Purpose of trial
The Castleman Disease Collaborative Network is creating a biobank called Castlebank for the purpose of supporting researchers to study the cause of Castleman disease and to develop treatments. The biobank collects blood and other samples.
Our site at St. Paul's Hospital will only participate in the biobank (Castlebank) portion of this study. Our site will collect one blood sample from the participant and ship the sample to the CDCN research site.
The purpose of the CDCN study is to aid researchers in understanding the causes of Castleman disease and to develop treatments based on their findings. Specifically, the goal of the biobank portion of the study is to generate a biobank to support current and future research studies aimed at uncovering the genetic, cellular, biochemical and molecular abnormalities that drive CD pathogenesis.
